The Decatur Sister Cities Committee is a Non-Profit Organization that exists to enhance the relationships with Decatur's sister cities: Tokorozawa, Japan and Seevetal, Germany. The committee organizes annual short-term student exchanges and periodic adult exchanges with both cities.

History

Over 50 years ago the Sister Cities movement was started by president Dwight D. Eisenhower to encourage people-to-people diplomacy. Decatur's Sister Cities committee began in 1966 and boasts one of the longest standing sister cities relationships in the state of Illinois.
