About Us

The Decatur Sister Cities Committee (DSCC) exists to enhance the relationships with Decatur's sister cities: Tokorozawa, Japan and Seevetal, Germany. The committee organizes annual student exchanges and periodic adult exchanges with both cities.

History

Over 50 years ago the Sister Cities movement was started by president Dwight D. Eisenhower to encourage people-to-people diplomacy. Decatur's Sister Cities committee began in 1966 and boasts one of the longest standing sister cities relationships in the state of Illinois.
